The Compensation Advocate provides advice and assistance directly to our members, their families and the wider community in relation to a wide range of claims and appeals matters to the Departments of Veterans Affairs.
The Compensation Advocate provides advice and assistance directly to our members, their families and the wider community in relation to a wide range of claims and appeals matters to the Departments of Veterans Affairs.
- Preparation & Submission of Claims to the DVA
- Maintain regular contact with the individuals who have made the claims
- Write case notes and file notes of interviews with veterans and their families, including documenting actions to be taken and referrals to other agencies under supervision
- Maintain the client database (CRM) to ensure timely and accurate data within confidentiality protocols
- Monitor the progress of claims and appeals that have been lodged on
- Maintain reference documentation relevant to the position and share information with colleagues within privacy rules
- Escalate issues if needed to the Manager to ensure the best service is provided to veterans and their families
- Assess outcomes under supervision and understand whether the client should accept of appeal determinations
- Excellent Customer Service experience
- Case Management or Claims experience is advantageous
- An empathetic, warm, and friendly communicator is paramount
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Conscientious and highly focused individual
- Permanent, Full Time (38 hours a week) Monday to Friday.
- Commencement Salary: $81,788.85, plus superannuation, plus salary sacrifice
- Location: Toowoomba or Brisbane
- Reporting to: Compensation Operations Manager.
