They are seeking a highly experienced Data Migration Developer to support the Data team within the Program. The Data team will prepare a data platform to facilitate data migration, report generation and data analytics.  You will play a crucial role in supporting the successful delivery of data migration, enterprise data warehouse, reporting functions, and data reconciliation within a complex program. Working within an Agile framework, you will collaborate closely with the Lead Data Migration and Reporting Specialist and other team members to ensure the seamless transition of legacy data into a new solution ecosystem, develop insightful reports, and reconcile data discrepancies.

You will require strong technical expertise in reporting, data analysis, data migration, and data reconciliation, as well as the ability to work collaboratively within cross-functional teams.

What you will be doing:
  • Data execution
    • execute data migration tasks according to the established data migration strategy and plan, ensuring the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of data transfers
    • utilise data quality & migration tools and methodologies, including data profiling tools for data quality analysis and ETL processes, to extract, transform, and load data from legacy systems into the target environment
    • collect, clean and organise large datasets from various sources
    • collaborate with the Lead Data Migration and Reporting Specialist and technical teams to troubleshoot data issues, address data quality concerns, and ensure the successful completion of data migration activities.
  • Data reconciliation
    • perform data reconciliation activities to verify the integrity, identify trends, patterns, anomalies and consistency of migrated data, identifying and resolving discrepancies between source and target data
    • develop reconciliation processes and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable data reconciliation outcomes
    • collaborate with stakeholders to validate reconciliation results and ensure alignment with program objectives and requirements.
  • Report development and analytics
    • utilise industry-standard reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, SAP BusinessObjects) to create data visualisations and actionable insights
  • Quality assurance
    • utilise quality assurance processes and standards for data migration, reporting, and data reconciliation activities, conducting regular reviews and audits to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with program objectives and regulatory requirements
    • perform data validation and verification activities to validate the accuracy and reliability of reported information and reconciliation results.
  • Stakeholder management
    • collaborate closely with other program leads, business stakeholders, and the program teams to gather requirements, define success criteria, and monitor success throughout the data migration, reporting, and reconciliation lifecycle
    • communicate effectively with stakeholders to provide updates on progress, address concerns, and ensure alignment with program goals and priorities.
Role requirements
  • proven experience in data migration, report development, data reconciliation, and analytics within complex program environments
  • strong technical skills in data migration tools and methodologies, ETL processes, database management systems, and industry-standard reporting tools
  • excellent analytical skills and the ability to translate data into actionable insights for stakeholders
  • strong report and dashboard development skills
  • effective communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • detail-oriented mindset with a focus on quality assurance, data reconciliation, and continuous improvement
  • experience working with Queensland Government-mandated methodologies
  • experience working in Agile environments is preferred.
This role will interview in January 2025 and is offered as an initial 3 month contract.  While hybrid working conditions may be offered, due to the nature of the role and the Program, the successful candidate will be expected to attend the office (located in the Brisbane CBD) on a regular basis.
