The Position

Reporting to the Associate Director, this General Manager leads the Motor Claims Commercial & Supply divisions. By implementing strategic initiatives, creating innovative solutions and fostering collaboration within the team, the General Manager will ensure the business remains adaptable and responsive as the market evolves.

As A&G continues to expand rapidly, a robust and efficient supply chain becomes critical. The Commercial and Supply divisions are essential for ensuring the business can handle a rising volume of claims while maintaining high customer service standards.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Drive exceptional contract management performance by focusing on strategic and complex engagement with insurance repair suppliers.
  • Develop and implement strategies to maximise the customer experience, operational efficiency, average repair cost, and cost controls across the business.
  • Improve relationships between automated systems and processes to enhance fraud detection, compliance controls, and cost efficiency.
  • Assist in defining and executing business plans while effectively communicating and managing objectives to meet supplier sourcing and financial goals.
  • Establish a robust culture of performance and accountability while instilling the necessary operational disciplines and rhythms to enable scalable and sustainable service delivery in the Australian market.
  • Create a highly engaged network of contracted suppliers delivering exceptional customer outcomes at a leading industry cost.
  • Facilitate intricate contract negotiations to secure optimal commercial results while evaluating current agreements to ensure they provide value.
  • Oversee the procurement team and projects, emphasising process improvement, problem-solving, and operational efficiencies within the department.
  • Challenge established business norms to deliver exceptional performance and strengthen employee capabilities.
  • Contribute to the broader company strategic direction and culture.

Skills & Experience
  • Extensive background and knowledge in supply chain, procurement, and contract management.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence teams through transformational change within a multi-site environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen with advanced skills in strategic development and systems thinking.
  • Financial services industry experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Highly developed communication and negotiation skills with exceptional stakeholder management.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills, along with strong analytical and reporting abilities.
