The Position

Troocoo is recruiting a General Manager of Procurement for our respected client in Queensland. This contract-based role will report to the Chief Financial Officer and play a pivotal role in the organisation’s exciting transformation journey.

The General Manager of Procurement will lead the procurement function to deliver strategic, commercial, and operational outcomes. With a key focus on driving value, efficiency, and innovation, the successful candidate will ensure the business remains adaptable and responsive as the market evolves.



Key responsibilities include:

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across procurement processes, systems and policies to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders across multiple departments to understand business needs, align procurement strategies and deliver commercial outcomes.
  • Develop and execute procurement strategies aligned with business objectives, ensuring cost optimisation and risk mitigation.
  • Identify market trends, emerging risks, and new opportunities to ensure strategies remain innovative and future-focused.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, internal policies and ethical procurement practices.
  • Oversee the procurement team and projects, emphasising process improvement, problem-solving, and operational efficiencies within the department.
  • Contribute to the broader company strategic direction and culture.
  • Develop and report on procurement KPIs, providing insights to senior leadership on performance, cost savings, and opportunities.
 Skills & Experience
  • Demonstrated experience in a senior procurement leadership position, such as Director of Procurement, Head of Procurement, or General Manager of Procurement.
  • Proven ability to lead and influence teams through transformational change.
  • Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking.
  • Proven experience leading procurement transformation initiatives, including technology implementation and effective process change management.
  • Queensland Government or Financial Services industry experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Exceptional at problem-solving, with strong analytical and reporting abilities.
