As Head of People, you will play a pivotal role in fostering a culture of empowerment, growth and excellence. This role will shape the journey of 900 + Lorna Jane employees, ensuring they connect with the Lorna Jane culture and brand, realising their potential within the organisation.

The Head of People will partner with the executive leadership team (ELT) and business leaders to ensure the organisation attracts, retains, develops, and nurtures current and future talent while promoting an environment where employees thrive and experience a great place to work.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive People and Culture strategy that aligns with Lorna Jane’s business objectives.
  • Lead and manage all aspects of the People and Culture function, including talent, performance management, learning and development, employee relations, employee experience, and risk and compliance management.
  • Serve as a trusted partner to the CEO and ELT, Influence decision-making by fostering productive, thought-provoking discussions to ensure decisions align with the brand, business, and people’s best interests
  • Partner with the COO and broader ELT to develop and implement programs to enhance leadership capability, succession planning, and talent management opportunities.
  • Champion Lorna Jane’s mission, vision, and values, embedding them into all employee experience and culture initiatives. Ensure employees feel valued and motivated to grow their careers with the business.
  • Focus on employee retention by creating a fantastic workplace and positioning Lorna Jane as a sought-after employer. Designing exceptional career pathways that enable employees to grow from entry level roles to senior positions within the organisation.
  • Operate with agility and adaptability, partnering closely with business leaders in a fast-paced retail environment. A rigid, overly processed, or policing approach to managing people and culture will not be as effective within the Lorna Jane environment.
  • Provide well-thought-out solutions to the CEO, enabling swift decision-making in alignment with the pace of the retail industry.
  • Implement strategies to ensure continuous improvement within people and culture.
  • Monitor and analyse key people metrics to inform decision-making and drive business outcomes.
  • Support the organisation through periods of change by driving effective communication, engagement, and implementation strategies.

  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively.
  • Problem-Solving: Proficiency in identifying challenges and implementing innovative, pragmatic solutions.
Key Selection Criteria
  • Significant experience in senior People and Culture roles, ideally within the retail or similarly multi-site/fast-paced industries.
  • Strong track record of influencing and partnering with executive leadership teams.
  • Expertise in leadership development, talent management, and organisational culture.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation across Australia, New Zealand, China and Singapore. Exceptional employment relations case management experience.
  • Experience in building and maintaining high-performing teams, including experience in culture transformation, aligning to an organisations vision and mission.
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to operate both at a strategic and operational level.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
