About the Role
Reporting directly to the Chief People Officer, this role will lead a company-wide compliance and due diligence project, ensuring that payroll, award interpretation, and wage practices align with legislative requirements.
Working cross-functionally with HR, Finance, Payroll, and Workforce Management teams—as well as external consultants such as PWC—this role will conduct risk assessments, review existing processes, and implement changes to strengthen compliance and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a wage compliance and due diligence project, ensuring alignment with federal and state employment laws.
- Conduct risk assessments on payroll, award conditions, and HR compliance.
- Partner with HR, Payroll, Finance, and Workforce Management teams to review wage-related policies, systems, and procedures.
- Oversee internal compliance reviews and work with external consultants (PWC) to validate findings.
- Provide training and support to key stakeholders, ensuring leadership teams understand compliance requirements.
- Drive process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce compliance risks.
- Develop reporting frameworks to track compliance status and risk mitigation strategies for senior leadership.
You are an experienced HR or Payroll Project Manager with a strong background in compliance, risk management, and change leadership. You thrive in dynamic environments, balancing regulatory expertise with operational best practice, and have a keen eye for process improvement.
Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years’ experience in HR or payroll project management, compliance, or regulatory risk roles.
- Proven ability to lead compliance audits and interpret employment legislation.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and change management skills, with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on risk mitigation.
- Proficiency in HRIS and payroll systems, compliance tracking tools, and project management platforms.
- PMP or similar project management certification is highly regarded.
- 12-month FTC with the potential for extension.
