The Role:
As a key contributor to the organization, you will be instrumental in shaping and advancing the Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities. Working closely with the senior leadership team (SLT), you will have the opportunity to build a greenfield environment, creating a robust and future-ready data strategy. Reporting directly to an accomplished Chief Information Officer (CIO), this role is ideal for a dynamic leader with a passion for people management, cutting-edge technologies, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement the organization’s AI and data strategy, aligning it with business objectives to drive innovation and competitive advantage.
- Team Building & Mentorship: Recruit, lead and inspire a multidisciplinary team of data scientists, AI engineers and data analysts, fostering collaboration and continuous professional growth.
- Data Governance & Ethics: Establish robust governance frameworks and policies to ensure secure, compliant and ethical use of data and AI technologies.
- Innovation & Research: Explore emerging technologies and apply advanced techniques in machine learning, natural language processing and predictive analytics to address key business challenges.
- Data Infrastructure: Oversee the development and optimization of data architectures, pipelines, and platforms to support large-scale processing, storage, and analytics.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with stakeholders across IT, product, and operations to integrate AI solutions and data insights into core business functions and decision-making processes.
- Cybersecurity Integration: Collaborate with the cybersecurity team to safeguard data assets and AI models, implementing robust protocols to mitigate vulnerabilities and protect against breaches.
- Performance Metrics: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to evaluate the impact of AI initiatives and promote continuous improvement.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and proactively address risks related to AI technologies, including ethical, security, and bias concerns.
