We are seeking a Senior Human Resources Business partner to provide strategic HR advice to leaders and employees, including support for workforce and capability planning, workforce profiling, recruitment and selction processes to ensure seamless delivery of HR activities and complex matters.

Key responsibilities for this role include:
  • Work proactively to understand the business operations and HR needs of the department
  • Provide an internal consultancy service to leaders and staff across the department
  • Employee relations, interpreting and applying public sector legislation, directives, policies and agreements to manage complex and sensitive employee matters.
  • Prepare expert advice and advocacy for tribunals and commissions e.g. Anti-Discrimination Commission Queensland, Queensland Industrial Relations Commission.
  • Workforce and succession planning, assisting leaders and managers to understand their current and future workforce needs and plan accordingly.
  • Performance and development planning, providing advice and support to managers and staff with their planning process and the identification of current and future skill development requirements.
  • Workplace Health, Safety and Rehabilitation, provide advice, early intervention and case management advice and support.
  • Undertake research and analysis to develop advice, policy and strategic documents relating to complex employment matters.
  • Work in partnership with P&C colleagues to deliver seamless customer service and specific HR expertise when needed.
  • Maintain knowledge of contemporary HR practices, seeking opportunities for improvements in line with business direction, with consideration of potential risks and legislative requirements.
  • Produce, analyse and provide recommendations on workforce information to support workforce planning and effective establishment management practices.
  • Contributing to a positive and safe work environment by modelling conduct that is culturally capable, inclusive, respectful, and ethical.
